Human Factors is a scientific discipline that studies how humans interact with technology and their environment.  Human Factors experts are scientists who evaluate human performance and behavior under various conditions. In cases involving motor vehicle collisions, Human Factors experts evaluate drivers’ ability to detect and respond to hazards on the roadway, how the use of technology such as cell phones, infotainment systems, and advanced driver assistance systems affects driver performance, and how the roadway design and environmental conditions affect drivers’ ability to navigate safely.
